We are delighted to announce our new fundraising partnership with the Women’s Team at Sandwell Steelers American Football club.

The Sandwell Steelers are a non-profit amateur American Football club, offering full contact football for Youth, Adult and Women.

We are delighted to announce the team’s charity partner for the 2020-21 season as Black Country Women’s Aid. This amazing charity supports survivors of violence, sexual abuse and exploitation across the West Midlands. This cause resonates with our female team members and we are looking forward to help raising vital funds for this worthwhile cause.

The team will be supporting our charity through a series of fundraising activities, making a donation of 20% of any funds raised. This will make a huge impact on the work we do at BCWA, as every donation makes a difference to the lives of the women and children we support.

The team will also be working with us to raise awareness of the violence, sexual abuse and exploitation experienced by the adults and children we support. They have kindly offered their time and expertise to provide free sport sessions to the women and children we support in refuge accommodation.

Our Fundraising Officer, Deb Slater, is positive this partnership will bring much needed awareness to charity.

“I was absolutely thrilled to speak with Libby from Sandwell Stealers and to find out they have chosen us as their charity of the year. We are really looking forward to meeting the team and joining in with their fundraising, thank you ladies, your help means so much!”

We’ll continue to update this website and our social media pages with news on the partnership with Sandwell Steelers as it progresses.
