Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA) is proud to have been chosen as Waldrons Solicitors Charity of the Year. The partnership is being formally launched at BCWA’s International Women’s Day event on Friday 8th March. Guests from Waldrons’ will join BCWA supporters and staff for an evening filled with fun, food and inspiration.

BCWA helps women, men and children from the West Midlands to escape from violence, cope with trauma and start again.

As a West Midlands firm that offers family law and other legal services, Waldrons’ shares BCWA’s commitment to transforming lives and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

Sara Ward, BCWA CEO explains further:

“At BCWA, we understand the devastating impact domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking and modern slavery has on people who may be our family, friends, neighbours or colleagues, as violence and abuse can happen to anyone at any time. Aside from the very personal, painful effects on the victim, the social and economic cost of domestic abuse in this country stands at £66 billion a year. People suffering physical and psychological harm also suffer economically if their ability to work is compromised.

“That is why local business support from companies like Waldrons’ helps us to not only fundraise for our vital services, but allows us to raise awareness and reach more people in need.

“Waldrons have been fantastic BCWA donors and champions for a while now, and we’re delighted to have this support formally recognised in a Charity of the Year partnership. Sponsoring our upcoming International Women’s Day event not only gives us a chance to celebrate together, but means that more of the money we make on the night will go towards supporting Black Country people who need our help.

“We’re very much looking forward to working with Waldrons’ on this and other exciting initiatives.”

Waldrons’ Managing Director Joseph Norton added:

“We are honoured to support a local Black Country charity and we cannot wait to see where our partnership takes us. BCWA do a huge amount in the community, and is a huge help to those in need of its wide range of services. Our staff members are extremely excited to get involved with volunteering days, events and help ensure another successful year of fundraising for Black Country Women’s Aid”.
