BCWA has launched a new youth justice support service with a special event this November.

‘Be You’ is helping Sandwell girls who are at risk of coming to the attention of, or have been involved with, the Youth Justice System (YJS).

The project aims to prevent girls from entering the YJS and support those who are leaving it to start new, safe, and purposeful lives. We will work to empower girls and keep them safe from exploitation and criminality. Our stabilising support programme will build confidence, self-belief, and aspiration for girls in their transition to adulthood.

Free Emotional Wellbeing Support

Sandwell schools can refer girls aged 11-19 to Be You for free emotional wellbeing support.

Successful Service Launch Event

At the well-received service launch, BCWA was proud to welcome project funders SCVO, Sandwell Council, and Waldrons, along with guests from our statutory, third sector, and schools partners. A powerful and moving ‘fireside chat’ with former Women’s Justice client Nakita and a compelling performance and video from Sandwell College students brought the project to life at the event, which was described as “amazing” by one attendee.
